#SONIC MANIA SPEEDRUN MOD#
If anything, the spindash was worse by comparision, and has been in every mod of the classic games that has both. The peel-out was better than the spindash on account of it being faster than even a fully charged spindash, and that you can hold down after it to just have a faster roll. Sprites are too smooth: It would take a long time to get Sonic's smooth sprites compiled for Flash. Both of these points are just asinine at their core. If I'm correct the reason there isn't a mobile S3&K or even just a remaster is because of something about the music, not technically SEGA saying no but trying to avoid getting rid of the themes we love in said remaster.ģ.
This is a video game about a BLUE hedgehog that destroys robots and fights against an egg-shaped scientist, of course it's not realistic!ĥ. The drop dash is actually great as it allows you to keep going fast while platforming.Ģ. Replaces Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Honestly, it might top off S3K as the best & biggest 2D sonic game ever in the classic series, & SEGA won't let Taxman & Headcannon do the mobile port of S3K to make the trilogy complete, sometimes, when I go on a trip, I take out my phone, & play Sonic 1 or 2, I would do the same thing for S3K's mobile remaster, IF THEY MADE ONE. Sprites are too smooth: It would take a long time to get Sonic's smooth sprites compiled for Flash.ĥ. Studiopolis: Very unrealistic level IMO, the only thing good about it is the music, but it's unfitting for the stage.ģ. Drop Dash: This move, like the Super Peel-Out, is very unneeded since we have the Spindash, the Insta-Shield was so much better.Ģ. Replaces Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Honestly, it might top off S3K as the best & biggest 2D sonic game ever in the classic series, & SEGA won't let Taxman & Headcannon do the mobile port of S3K to make the trilogy complete (Possibly due to Hyper Sonic & the Level Design), sometimes, when I go on a trip, I take out my phone, & play Sonic 1 or 2, I would do the same thing for S3K's mobile remaster, IF THEY MADE ONE.ĮDIT: Forget everything I just said, except number 5, also, I'll manage with mania's sprites. False advertising for Green Hill act 2: Seriously, it has Act 3's layout in it when they said it didn't, what a lie.ĥ.
Sprites are too smooth: It would take a long time to get Sonic's smooth sprites compiled for Flash (Like always, but I'll manage).Ĥ. Studiopolis: Very unrealistic level & Casino Night rip-off IMO, the only thing good about it is the music, but it's unfitting for the stage.ģ.
Check out any game you’re interested in and scope out the rule sets to see how the speedrunning community divides it.1. The most popular games, such as Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, or classic DOOM, are frequently large enough to have entire communities dedicated to a specific ruleset, not just the game as a whole.įurther rules include what the game can be played on, such as which console or emulator, what frame rate the game can run at, which character is used, which difficulty, and so on. Very popular games will have multiple rulesets that effectively change how the race is run, whether it allows for the use of glitches, or just some, or none, and how much of the game needs to be completed to count. The “Glitchless 100%” category, however, is a much less popular ruleset.
If I can even hit top 25 I'd be happy.- The Cookie Pope December 12, 2018įor example, a common speedrun would be something like “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Glitchless Any%,” which translates to playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time without using glitches with any percent of the game completed (usually as little as possible). After speaking with someone who guided me through the speedrun rules, I CAN DO THIS WITH DSFIX ON DSPTD!!!! #praisethesun and #praisethecookies!!!! #Speedrun tests will commence in Jan with my first attempt at official run in Feb/March.
